It happens in the Post Graduate Medical Center Karachi 2023. Robotic surgery is a very sensitive and minimally invasive surgical technique in which we use a Robotic system to perform some complex operations on sensitive organs.
Eventually, in this Operation, there is a Robotic system present and the surgeon controls the robotic arms from a device which is called the Console, which allows better precision and surgery which is needed in that kind of operation. Robotic surgery is mainly used for sensitive operations like it is often used for the Lower abdomen such as Gallstone surgery of the liver. All the system is computerized and the patient experiences less pain and a very shorter recovery time. If we compare the Robotic surgery/Open surgery
then there is a huge difference like,
- Less painful
- Higher precise and accuracy
- No infection
- Recovery time
In 2019, Robotic surgery was successfully performed at the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Transplant Institute (PKL) However, This happened first time in Pakistan in Karachi.
It’s very good to say that If this robotic technology comes to Pakistan to perform sensitive operations then their a much greater chance to minimize these things including Recovery time, infection, Pain, and full surety.
It’s a very significant milestone and factor for medical health care in Pakistan. It demonstrates that our country has the latest technology and expertise to perform many sensitive and complex operations and improve their outcomes and quality of life.
